Fresh leaves undergo six hours of natural indoor wilting with 45% moisture loss, followed by light rolling. They are then traditionally熏ed (smoked) in a 'Qinglou' smoke house using pine firewood for 24 hours at a temperature maintained between 40-45 °C.
